There is no greater evil, in the world today, than the US Deep State. With the exception of the Third Reich, the US Deep State is also the Greatest Evil in history.
This is the very Deep State that has promoted wars against Democracy and Poor People around the world since 1898 to the present, resulting in over 30 million foreign casualties.
This is the very Deep State that has supported repressive anti-Democratic movements around the world, with over 81 known examples of "regime change." It continues to this day in Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Hong Kong.
This is the very Deep State that covers its tracks perfectly in the US mainstream media, which promotes the lies, and demonizations of other countries, movements, and leaders which do not follow US orders. As a result, it has produced the most sadly polarized and disinformed public in the world.
Donald Trump is a "lesser evil" overall than the whole Deep State. After all, he is just one man, and in fact he is a part of the Deep State too.
Donald Trump has a taller evil profile in some areas than the mainstream Deep State. So, his evil in promoting War in Iran is taller than Saint Obomber--who is closer to the mainstream Deep State. His evil in torturing immigrant children at the US southern border is taller (though, Saint Obomber had also separated children, etc, he discontinued those operations in the last few years of his Presidency, like a few other of the most saintly things he did, when they would of most PR vs campaign-contribution-cost value and most likely discontinued quietly by the next administration. Also in this category are the various oil refuges he established--near the end of his administration--after having given green lights to drilling in the Gulf and other places in all the years previously.)
So Trump's evil has a taller profile in a few places, but still it's still lesser, because Trump is just a bump on the Deep State log himself, AND Trump has at least given lip service and a few false (thwarted?) moves to a few of the right things: Peace in Syria and Peace with Russia.
And Trump and his profile of evil will eventually be gone. But it is hard to see how we ever get rid of the Intelligence, Military, and Media Industrial complex which has ruled the US since 1898.
Perhaps making it in the President's advantage to tear up the Deep State? I'm all for it. Replacing it all with dysfunctional idiot MAGA's? Probably an improvement. At least if Trump can keep the Bolton's out of it--which he did once. Corrupt idiots are better than evil geniuses staffing organizations that should not exist: CIA, DIA, NSA, NED, DOD, FBI, USAID, DEA, ICE, and VOA. Covert operations , prohibition, inhumanity, and disinformation.
(That's probably why the Deep State itself chose Donald Trump: better the corrupt idiot who can be controlled with ScandalGate than the evil genius insider whose corrupt connections run through the whole Deep State and are too big to be exposed. Yes, of course, Hillary lost By Intent and Design. That she hides this so well is part of her genius.)
I argue for having No Secret Agencies. I believe virtually all secrecy is counterproductive. Few believe me. This is the most radical, and I believe the most correct, view. Transparency is essential for Democracy. Secrecy is the tool of Empire and never serves Democracy.
But perhaps we could agree that Covert Operations are counterproductive. And Regime Change Operations. So perhaps if Intelligence is retasked with EXCLUSIVELY with just figuring things out rather than trying to change them, it might be OK. Until we can figure out how to eliminate Intelligence entirely.
Sadly, it's the other Government Agencies, which might have been doing some good at one time, that always face the wrecking ball first, and silently.
