Sad Point

Observer uncle tungsten writes:
Instead, political theater, which is almost certain to fail to remove Trump and instead make him strengthened in 2020, as he will claim persecution followed by vindication.

Even Chomsky has this assessment, as of course does b from MoonOfAlabama.

Chomsky disagrees with Moon and me about the positivity of removing the US troops protecting the Kurds.

Funny neither Chomsky nor the US MSM mentions Bashir al Assad or Russia and their diplomacy.  The correct thing to do would have been to "surrounder" outposts to the Syrian Army.  That needn't be a full surrender, but a partial surrender of some theater would be better than not.

Of course we failed to surrender--we are still at war with Syria--without admitting we are (or much recognizing that Syria even exists).  Within that context, the context of an occupying power, we should indeed have maintained the troops to protect the Kurds.  But what gives us those rights or responsibilities of an Occupying Power?  You could say, it's not a right, it's a fact.

So to further elaborate on "the correct thing to do," that would be to cease all hostile actions, direct or indirect, within or around or regarding Syria, AND surrender all US posts within Syria to the Syrian Army detachments as they arrive.

I've decided to agree (as far as this) that after ruling out all the correct things we might have done, abandoning an illegal occupation's US posts to a certain slaughter of civilians (?) would be worse than not, and it appears that it was, and whatever virtue may have been achieved by abandoning an illegal occupation in-and-of-itself of one part of the country was reversed by escalation in another area.  But bear in mind when a slaughter occurs because we don't prevent it, we are only partly at fault.  The party at greater fault, is the one that actually does the slaughtering, and THEIR enablers.

It has been my theory all along that being the whole purpose of the Impeachment Circus, to ensure peace will not arrive.   Deep State revelations are driving the whole thing, and their interests are well known--to keep the wars going.  Defeating Trump means nothing to the Deep State, what they want is to control Trump.  They did that first through Russiagate and now through Impeachment.  And they especially hate Bernie and Tulsi, and most Deep State elements would prefer the defeat of Warren as well.  So it's their perfect plan.
