In an earlier essay, I outlined my reasons to impeach President Trump. And I stand by those--I believe Trump should be impeached. But I do not stand with Whistleblowergate, which I believe is at best ill-conceived and at worst a CIA created anti-peace program continuing on from Russiagate.
Along the lines of the Impeachment I suggest, it's hard to know what would happen. It probably wouldn't get as much media attention, which would be fine.
In fact, that is the problem with Any Impeachment at this time--distracting from the more important questions of our time, and in particular those related to the selecting of the next President, not just microscopic alleged "Russian Influences."
In view of that Problem, the way for most of us to deal with Impeachment along the Whistleblowergate lines, is to minimize it as much as possible, and at every opportunity return the discussion back to what is important, such as the Green New Deal, which we're going to have to start on soon in order to survive.
Otherwise, Whistleblowergate Impeachment IS going to suck all the air out of the room, and thereby probably strengthen Trump's chances in 2020.
Still, sadly, it's important for us antiwar leftists to keep up with the ongoing disclosures in Whistleblowergate and their accurate analysis and debunking. Because, as we know, the purpose of Whistleblowergate isn't actually to remove Trump, it's to maintain the war drumbeat and starve leftist ideas and candidates of mind space.
In summary, the personal strategy is investigate, but deflect. Some analysts must continue to be specialists in debunking Whistleblowergate regardless. But as a whole, the left antiwar community should seek a different discussion--our discussion--and not the war center's distraction.
It's hard for me to even follow something without already commenting on it, and I think that's a common fault. This is an opportunity to learn some restraint.
