IPEF is more of the same old Globalization that tries to set US corporations ahead by using monopoly protecting rules that meanwhile the most sincere anti-monopolists are trying to stop within the US.
Even if Indo-Pacific countries agree to it, none of this is going to stop China from being #1 for most of these countries, because it has the actual products (including EV's and solar panels) and raw materials at half the price from USA and others, which offer little if any qualitative advantage either.
We should stop trying to out maneuver China with new exploitative agreements like IPEF, and instead open up to better trade relations with them (including ending sanctions),
achieving lower prices in USA, qand aim to compete in real production of better goods, exploiting our natural advantage in cultural products and being more ahead of the curve.
Following the path we're on, we're losing that.
