Please reject the new $40 billion in additional weapons for Ukraine. These will only lead to greater Ukrainian death and destruction. Russia will not back down, they see this as existential, and protecting ethnic Russians and historic Russian territories. What is needed is a negotiated settlement between Ukraine and Russia, likely ceding some territory to new majority Russian republics DPR and LPR where most people support the idea already. The sooner this is done the better. Many conservative commentators including Pat Buchanan, Paul Craig Roberts, and Ron Paul understand this issue correctly. Sadly, Democrats in Congress do not. I was pleased to see 57 Republicans in the US House vote against this package.
